I am totally stoked about my latest layout that I finished on Thursday night. I never scrap about me and none of my scrapbooks have any pics of me. I thought that the Basic Grey Lime Rickey went perfect with this pic of me at the Apple Orchard and the awesome leaf pp is K&Company's Citronella Green Leaves. I'm on a real color charge lately wanting to scrap rich saturated colors & vivid color pics.

TRYIN' DAY!!

Well--no pictures to post, becuz today has been 1 tryin' day. Today my BD (baby's daddy) showed up to my door with the police becuz I refused to allow him entry into MY HOME. My name is on the mailbox, the mortgage, and the monogrammed towels.

I took control of this nightmare that I've been dealing with for the past 5 years. I have been harassed, manipulated, and robbed by the ADDICT who is my BD (a 43 yo liability). In June I put an end to the madness and made him move out, but like a mouse attempts to invade ur home when it's cold, he came back on Halloween. Since then he has steadfastly refused to leave and I have been dealing with this intrusion into my personal space since then. Yesterday it came 2 a head when he locked himself out & couldn't get back in because I had the only key. I refused to allow him entry and this a.m. he came to my door with the police in tow. I was embarrassed, humiliated, and threatened by them as they told me that he had a legal right 2 be there. What about my legal rights? This interloper contributes NOTHING to the household, does not have a room in my home, keeps an 18 gallon tote full of dirty clothes in the garage and from that he has legal rights? I am beyond frustrated so tomorrow I must seek legal means to put an end to this nonsense. I will start by obtaining a restraining order and then proceed with eviction proceedings. Although the police did not make him stay because he said he would willingly leave. I cannot leave anything 2 chance. I must sever this relationship and permanently put an end to any access he might have 2 my sanctuary.

I apologize for being so heavy 2day, but I had to divorce this experience from myself. Although I am very upset by all that has transpired--I am not this experience. This happened to me, but it does not define me. I pray that if any of u have the misfortune of becoming entangled with an addict that u would be strengthened to put an end to things quickly. An addict will only seek help when they are ready.

I was itching to scrap tonite so I polished off 2 8x8 layouts using the Colorbok "Everything Nice" page kit. They were both simple and quick. I've posted a picture of one side of my layout. The other one will follow soon. The lighting in the living room is very yellow & I'm having a tough time adjusting the levels in my photo editing software.

I've learned about myself that scrapping is my own lil piece of nirvana. It's my "me" time. I'm not able to go on a vay cay, but I go on 1 everytime I scrap the memories of where I've been & how my little girl is growing up. I do it 2 keep myself sane. I get physically agitated when I don't have that time to myself. I especially luv 2 scrap late at nite when the house is quiet or in the wee hours of the morning when I know my little bug is sleeping & I don't have 2 feel guilty or crabby that's she's not getting my undivided attention.

I found a new blog that I'm lovin called, "Got Sketch". It's a great place to pick up inspiring sketches that will get the creative scrapbook juices flowing. I added the blinkie to the left for anyone who is interested.

Ok, here is just a little something I've been working on. I luv, luv, luv this paper by Fancy Pants from there "About a Boy" Collection (even though the collections is old). The colors are just so rich and saturated that I couldn't wait to find a way to use them. In addition, I was pleased as punch that I scrapped a pic of my daughter when she wasn't hamming it up for the camera. She looks so forlorn in this pic because she really wanted to go on this ride with her big brother, but she wasn't tall enuf to ride. I also just finished a mini album for Kam's Apple Pickin trip with her school. I will have more those pictures added soon. I know I have not been good with the whole blogging thing, but I see blogs that have all these bells and whistles and I want mine to blow, but

I haven't figured out how to make it do what it do. I may not always be consistent, but I am persistent. I will master the blogging thing and when I do...WATCH OUT WORLD :-)

It's Been A Long Time

Well, now that I've recovered from the back flips--a harsh reality set in. My widget stopped working and I wanted a simpler, cleaner background for the blog. I'm not sure that this is better, but the other one was too busy for the look I'm trying to convey. I must also apologize to everyone because I haven't done any of what I set out to do with this blog. I plan to do better from now on. Let's keep our fingers crossed. In the meantime, here are 25 Random Things about me since I was tagged on my FB page. Enjoy them!

1. I kiss my daughter every chance I get & every morning when I strap her into the car seat. I want her to always know she is loved and cherished by me.

2. As a kid I used to sneak and eat lotion. Jergens and Avon Moisture Rich were my faves and my daughter licks her arms every time I put Avon lotion on her. Dear God, I've marked her.

3. My family always told me I was fat all through out my childhood and especially in High School. Now that I really am fat I think...I'll take 11/12, 13/14 version of fat over this size all day long.

4. I have no rhythm. I can do the 2 step only when someone with rhythm is standing close by but let another rhythmless person get near me and it throws salt in my game every time.

5. When I go to the movies it's not beyond me to carry a big pocketbook and fill it with .25 cent hood chips and C&C orange soda to wash it down. Don't act like y'all don't know. Movie popcorn is expensive--Holla if u hear me.

6. My favorite color is blue.

7. My favorite artist is Mary J. Blige. I once took a day off work to go see her at Rockefellar Center NBC free summer stage concert. (Her tickets r expensive 2!!) I got there around 8 am only 2 find out otr people started arriving around 3 am so they were on the front row, but a security guard took pity on me and took me up to the side of the stage. I was looking at her profile but I was so close I could touch her. LOL

8. Don't tell DYFS but twice I fell asleep with my daughter in the infant swing all night. She wouldn't stop crying and that swing worked magic for both of us.

9. I hate to cook. My best meals are those in the crock pot because u throw it all in and walk away & leave it for 6 to 8 hours. That's what's up.

10. I have to concentrate on looking people in their eyes. I do find that I mostly look people in their mouth. I attribute it to lousy hearing. I don't read lips but I do follow the conversation better that way.

11. I have to concentrate even harder if the person has a jacked up mouth. Missing teeth I can fluctuate, but a mouth that is rotting before my eyes is like a bad Horror Show that I can't tear my eyes away from as I try to suppress the "Why" in my throat. Dental & Medical benefits should be free to all who need them. All jokes aside it's crimminal that our country makes it so expensive for people to afford these basic but necessary services.

12. I am addicted to Scrapbooking. I love taking pictures of my little one and I wish I had a Nikon SLR camera like my brother's fiance--hint! hint!

13. I love the Lord. I am an ordained Evangelist in my church. I often don't tell people because as a Christian there are things I struggle with every day. I come up short. I miss the mark. I struggle to forgive myself and others.

14. I have road rage. I hate to be cut off and I will go out of my way to cut you back off. I hate to drive behind a space cadet (someone who drives with 5 space lengths between them and the next car) and I have literally been run off the road on 3 separate occasions. Twice by New Yorkers...hmmm wonder what that means?

15. My favorite food is Italian and I least care for Thai and Indian cuisine.

16. My brother and I watched entirely 2 much TV as kids. I still quote Bugs Bunny, I can still remember all the words to the Enjoli perfume commercial and the Indian Chief with the 1 lonely tear coming down his face made me sad :-(

17. I once got fired from a job for paraphrasing Bugs Bunny. A manager was working my nerves so I asked my co-worker should I slap her now or wait til we went home and she said, 'Slap her now! Slap her now' and I said 'O no, this time we wait til we get home'. She overheard the whole thing. She said I threatened her and had security escort me out of the building.

18. I love interior decorating although it's not my talent. I love reality tv home shows like Trading Spaces, Extreme Makeover and all things HGTV.

19. I was more terrifed during the 2003 black out than I was during 9/11. I worked in NY during both but 9/11 was surreal. I saw it on TV but I wasn't close by. After 9/11 when the black out happened it made me wonder if 9/11 was happening again so I was way more panicked. I couldn't get home & I had to sleep at my job.

20. If I new at age 20 the things I know now at age 37 I would be hoarse from screaming at myself: "NO! STOP! RUN FORREST! RUN!!!

21. I can't listen to music by 50 cent...especially 'Get Rich or Die Tryin'. It gave me commuter rage. I was hostile, pushing people on the train, letting the doors close on them. I would get to work all amped up. I had to let it go.

22. My favorite game as a child was Hop Scotch. I tried to play last summer with my daughter and the burning in my chest was indescribable.

23. My mom is my best friend. I love her. We shop together, vacation together, fall out with one another and still come back the next day and be friends.

24. I would love to travel to Italy, Australia, and the Canary Islands. I still need to get a passport and I've already been to Jamaica, Mexico, Florida, and Vegas.

25. I so love to shop. I can tear a mall down. My brother & I were in the malls since b4 we could walk. Until this day my whole family can shop anyone under the table and quiet is kept my brother can out shop his fiance.
